Getting to Know São Paulo

Skippy and OB are good friends by now. Since they have arrived from Australia and USA, they have been very busy with our kids. Even though, I kept them with me to enjoy the city for the weekend. They visited famous spots such as Praça da Sé, Bairro da Liberdade, Paulista Avenue and we also used public transportation, we travelled mostly by tube.

Skippy is appreciating the art work of Aldemir Martins from Ceará in Brasil, this is Tatuapé tube station, red line São Paulo.

Aldemir Martins' work is amazing. You can visit this page and get to learn some more about him http://www.catalogodasartes.com.br/Lista_Obras_Biografia_Artista.asp?idArtista=232&txtArtista=Aldemir%20Martins visit also http://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aldemir_Martins

Now, they are enjoying the gardens of Centro Brasileiro Britânico in São Paulo where I helped in a workshop for language teachers presentation. They joined our group of teachers afterwards.

Teachers Mieko, Eneida, Tereza and Adriana
Back to the tube, yellow line this time to go to Paulista Avenue.

It was not a long walk but they enjoyed it a lot to see MASP, Conjunto Nacional, Trianom Park and other places.

Virtual tour through São Paulo: you choose your favorite spot on the site http://www.visitesaopaulo.com/tour-virtual.asp .Have a nice trip!

People come here specially by the weekends to enjoy the food and the street fair.

Now we have just arrived in Praça da Sé, the most crowded tube station in the world at rush time (my opinion). We were lucky it is Saturday afternoon.

We enjoyed the exhibition Retratos da Vida which would be Portraits of Life in English.

Praça da Sé, such a beautiful place shoudn't be so neglected (again my opinion). It is great to be here anyway. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S%C3%A9_%28district_of_S%C3%A3o_Paulo%29

The last place of our walking trip http://mosteiro.org.br/ Mosteiro de São Bento.
