A VOZ DO ALUNO - THE BRITISH COUNCIL

 
The happy people in the picture are Lílian, Pâmela and Teacher Rose Gimenes. We were presenting the work we developed during the year together with the schools EMEF Malba Tahan (oriented by Teacher Wilma Aurélio) and EE Prof. Wolny de Carvalho Ramos (oriented by Teacher Roberta Lopes).
During the presentation we talked to teachers from other parts of the city and showed our site www.brazilianfriends.multiply.com, then we were invited for a delicious cultural presentation offered by Teachers Neto and Márcio's students. After that, Cultura Inglesa delighted us all with musical presentation.
Students interacted with each other and made many friends. I´d like to thank the British Council, Cultura Inglesa and PUC for the opportunity and specially Teacher Celani who idealised and made everything possible.

Students from EMEF Antonio Carlos, Malba Tahan and Prof. Wolny de Barros presented their work at the British Council last Saturday on december 6th, the students were coordinated by teachers Roberta Lopes, Rose Gimenes and Wilma Aurélio.

Scientific Project and Teacher Denise

Teacher Denise was born in Itaquera where she lives and has studied. She is a graduating student in Languages at USP and is presently investigating the reality of a public school, more specifically the way the students learn (or don´t learn) a second language, both in order to understand better this process and also to give her contribution to improve language teaching.

 

She joined us in September in order to carry on a scientific research about Multiliteracy for her graduation course at USP and has talked to several students during the last two months.

 

In her last visit to our school teacher Marcos Mendonça have also talked to us about the importance of academic work and that all students should seek the opportunity of studying at a public university in the future.

 

The meeting took place on November 7 and involved students from 7th B, C and D, teachers Denise Landin, our headmaster Marcos Mendonça and also Teacher Rose ( also the photographer). See album.

OUR TRADITIONAL FESTA JUNINA.

This is a typical party that happens in Brazil in the month of June in which people celebrate the corn gathering. Saint John, Saint Anthony and Saint Peter are also remembered in the celebrations. The food is delicious, the music is fantastic and the dance is contagious!!!

I'm Rose. I have a small family and we live in São Paulo. I love 2 go to the movies, reading and listening to music during my free time. Besides, I also enjoy the contact with nature and making new friends. I  have a cat called  Lilica , she is so charming! I work as a language teacher and I love my job.
